Stories from our Adopters
Each year, hundreds of dogs and cats are adopted by loving families through the Frisco Humane Society. Enjoy these happy adoption stories from people who have shared their experiences with their adopted pet from FHS.
To submit your happy adoption story (or your memorial to your pet who has passed away) send an email to fhsadmin@friscohumanesociety.com with the pet’s story, date of adoption if possible, and photo. We look forward to hearing from you.

My husband, Doug, and I adopted Monet (top left cat) in October 2009 from FHS. I noticed while at PetSmart, he also had an adorable brother named Renoir. Due to the fact that we had an 11 year old cat named Simon we would be introducing Monet to, we were hesitant to bring yet a third cat into the mix. Surprisingly, all went well with Monet and Simon, and they became good buddies.
I kept thinking about Renoir, and figured he was already adopted. I contacted their foster mom, Cynthia Jacobson, and was surprised to learn that Renoir still had not been adopted. I waited one more week, and upon hearing he still had not been, I knew he was destined to be with us, and his real brother! We went to PetSmart in November 2009, and adopted Renoir. The brothers "recognized" each other as soon as we brought Renoir home, and all three cats have been living together in harmony ever since! They all lounge/sleep together, but I find the two brothers lounging together particularly adorable!
We moved from Frisco, Texas to Anaheim, California in August 2011, and they did so well on the car ride/move out here! Here is a picture of the two FHS alums lounging together in January 2012. They are on the look out for lizards in our backyard... and when they spot them, you practically have to peel them off the glass! It's pretty funny!

Here is JULIET (formerly KiKi) on Christmas morning! We adopted her in July of 2011, at the age of 4, and we just want to let you know what a perfect kitty she is for us! She has really settled into her new home and is the queen of the house. She never lets us forget when it's time for supper! Playing with the laser pointer is a blast and she loves to explore any new bag or box you bring home. She is one curious kitty! But her favorite thing, at the end of the day, is curling up in a nice warm lap. This girl loves to cuddle!!! She is a wonderful addition to our family. We are very happy to have found her! Thank you!

TAZ is doing just great! He is so loved, and so lovable!
He has a whole collection of little sweaters and coats, since he does not like the cooler weather. he loves his friend Violet, our rescue pug, and they spend many jolly mornings and evenings going for walks together, visiting the dog park, and playing outside.
Thanks so much for rescuing Taz and saving his life. A big kiss to Mary Anne who fostered him, and was correct when she said that Taz was a dog who needed a boy. He and Elijah are inseparable!Happy New Year,
~Lisa
This is COCO (formerly Kaylee) and CHARMER. Coco is a gorgeous Snowshoe Siamese and Charmer is a pretty black kitty. I adopted both of these girls from Frisco Humane Society a year and a half ago and they are cherished family members.
Cynthia told me they would grow to love each other and they do! Coco is an elegant princess who likes to bring the pretty factor and Charmer is a silly little rough and tumble comedian. They both bring a lot of love and laughter to our home.

Just wanted to tell you how much we love little CASPER.
I just love him more and more as time goes on.Thank you so much for pulling him out of that shelter and caring for him!

We adopted MARCHESA on January 1st from FHS. What a great way to start 2012! Marchesa is adjusting so well to her new family. She has selected her favorite daytime nap space and sleeps with me at night. She even gave her new human daddy a kiss in the middle of the night! I'm sure it had nothing to do with that smoked salmon he ate for dinner. We love Marchesa and want to thank the Frisco Humane Society and Deb for letting her be part of our family.

Siblings BELLA AND LEO (formerly Clover and Dandylion) hang out in their bed. This is kind of an older photo because now they kick me out of my spot on the couch!

MR.CHEESE is my handsome kitty adopted from the Frisco Humane Society in June 2010. I just wanted to share a picture of him, especially for his foster to see how gorgeous he is now =) His original name was Webster, and he was just 11 weeks old when I adopted him! He was almost completely white then, but his flame points have come in nicely =) Feel free to friend him and check out all his pretty pictures!
~Lauren Just wanted to let you know how little Miss AVERY was doing. . .She’s just precious as she can be!! She loves sweaters. Absolutely loves them. When we have a sweater in hand and walk by her, she sits and stares at us with those sad looking eyes. . .she just wants her sweater on!Her and Bennett play chase every evening around 9:00PM and it’s the greatest thing in the world. She’s actually starting a lot of it by going up to him and nudging at his ankles or rolling over on her back and shaking around. Then, they’re off. . .around and around the couch they go, up the stairs, down the stairs, into the bedroom, over the bed and back to the living area to start all over again. . .it’s so funny and entertaining. They just wear each other out and it’s fantastic!!She’s been to daycare now twice with Mr. Bennett. . .on her 2nd visit, she knew exactly what door to go to for all the fun with her doggy friends. They play so hard that they’re just exhausted when they come home and sleep for hours in our arms all snuggled up.
She’s now even playing with her squeaky toys/balls and playing fetch with us and Bennett. They like to play tug o war with the long stuffed squeaky toy. . .it’s so cute how they take it over to each other to get the other dog to play.We just love having her in the family and now both my husband and I have our own little dog to love on while we watch tv or hang out at the house. She’s just perfect!!Thank you so much!!~CoriLast summer our family lost our beloved friend of almost 16 years due to old age. He was a 60 lb mutt that was a rescue from New Orleans. He was such a huge part of our family and our perfect pet that his loss hit us all very hard. I personally could not stand not having a dog in the house to come home to and love. I began the search on PetFinder. We weren’t looking to replace Oscar, but we were looking for another family member.
We found MAX. Max was three years old and had recently been surrendered because his prior owner was traveling a lot and looking to move.We have two boys who are five and eight, and we wanted a spunky, kid friendly dog that they could enjoy. We’ve now had Max for six months and he is wonderful! Every morning he goes with me to wake up the kids for school. The boys love the morning kisses from Max. The boys love to take Max for walks, play games with him and snuggle with him. I love snuggling and playing with Max. He’s smart and we’ve taught him a few tricks too. Max is such a joy to have in our family. We are so glad we found him.

I’ve attached our Christmas picture. While Max may seem embarrassed about the costume, we think he loved it deep down!
Keep up the good work FHS!

I have a story, you all know. It's my ANNIE. Amazing, loving, precious love bug. Probably from an old breeder who when she was 11 threw her out. The vet called someone with FHS, she had never been spayed, almost all teeth gone, 2 - 1/2 teeth 3 whole teeth all together. Anyway the Vet cleaned her up even the nails (how about that) and gave her a bath.
We are both seniors and so is Annie. Some wonderful Elf made sure she was mine on Christmas Eve. All the money on earth could not buy her, the difference she has made in my and my husband's life is not able to put in words. Her health is so much better, fix her food special for her, give he her meds and mostly rock her. Annie is loved so much.Thank you JesusThank you My Elf

I found TRUDY on Petfinders.com, and could not resist to find out more when I saw her picture. I set an appointment then arranged to meet her with a wonderful lady - Julie Wilson, who volunteers with the Frisco Humane Society. She is such a dedicated, wonderful person, that devotes her time and energy to saving so many animals. Of course, we fell in love with Trudy when we first saw her, and proceeded to start the adoption process.
Trudy is doing very well, and is thriving. She is such a joy and is such a wonderful part of our family now. She is very active, is a good eater, and loves to play with everyone. She is very friendly also, and usually makes us laugh everyday. We are SO glad that we found her!
